About
Urange Banjar: Heritage & Culture of the Banjar in Singapore is one in a series of community co-curated exhibitions & programmes, aimed at spreading awareness of the Malay Community in Singapore. It features performances, live readings, seminars & workshops organised by the Malay Heritage Centre.
Design approach
To showcase the Urang Banjar & their diversity of culture and identity, the key image of a kaleidoscope was chosen. Various items of historical importance featured in the exhibition were chosen to form the kaleiscopic arrangement; weaving together different fragments to form a greater and more beautiful whole.This symbolises how different snippets of material play a role in telling the greater story of the Urang Banjarese in Singapore.
